Welcome to The Baptist Commentary
My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away [on] the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their place. Jeremiah 50:6

I have been asked to include documents of my posts so that they can be downloaded and read at a later time. I installed a plug-in that can be used to have a post sent to you in PDF format. I hope you find this tool useful. It does require you to allow a pop-up window to open which processes the request.
In addition to documents, it has been suggested that I include audio files so that visitors can download my post to listen to rather than having to read them. I hope to begin this project in the near future as well using MP3 files.

Does Salvation result from Works or from Faith?
Consider these teachings from the following scriptures
Those who eat the bread will live forever, but those who eat the bread and drink the blood have eternal life. John 6
Christ is the true vine. The Father takes away from the vine those branches which do not bear fruit. When those branches are taken from the vine that gave them life, they are withered and cast into the fire. John 15
We are predestinated to be adopted as children and predestinated to be bequeathed an inheritance. Then if we trust and believe, we receive the earnest of that inheritance in the form of the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 1
The approved and required works of God is to believe in Jesus Christ. John 6
The person that obeys the commandments is a person that loves Christ Jesus. If a person loves Jesus, Jesus will pray to the Father and the person will be given the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost that dwells within. The person that loves Jesus also loves the Father, and Jesus will reveal Himself to that person. If a person loves Jesus and keeps His word, then Jesus and the Father will make their adobe with that person. John 14
From these passages above we must conclude that the presence of the Father and the Son within the person is made possible in the form of the Holy Ghost. The Son is eternal life, and we must conclude that if we possess the Son and the Father in the form of the Holy Ghost, then we also possess eternal life. But bare in mind, that unless we obey the commandments, the Holy Ghost is not given to us. If we do not obey the commandments, the Father and the Son do not abide within us. Now consider the following passages as well.
If a person live in accordance with the desires of the flesh he will die, but if the person, through the power of the Holy Ghost mortifies the deeds of the flesh he shall live. Romans 8:13
If Christ be within you, then the flesh is dead because of sin; but the Holy Ghost is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:10
If the Holy Ghost that raised Christ from the dead dwells within you, then that same Holy Ghost shall quicken your mortal bodies. Romans 8:11
You are not living after the desires of the flesh, but instead after the Holy Ghost, if the Holy Ghost dwells within you. If any man has not the Holy Ghost dwelling within, then that person does not love Jesus Christ. Romans 8:9
Thank you for visiting.
